The Texas Open, known as the Valero Texas Open for sponsorship reasons, is a professional golf tournament on the PGA Tour, played near San Antonio, Texas.It dates back 98 years to 1922, when it was first called the Texas Open; San Antonio-based Valero Energy Corporation took over naming rights in 2002.It is played at The Oaks Course at the TPC San Antonio, northeast of the city. PGA TOUR Live Leaderboard scores from the Arnold Palmer Invitational presented by Mastercard 2020-2021.
There was plenty at stake for the winner of this week’s event with a place at The Masters and there has been a significant increase to the 2019 Valero Texas Open prize money.
Corey Conners booked his spot at Augusta National and received $1,350,000 million of the $7.5 million prize purse, an increase of $200,000 compared to the share that 2018 winner Andrew Landry received.
Players who made the top 10 will receive a minimum of just over $200,000 and any player who made the cut took home a minimum of $15,000.

The 2007 Masters Champion Zach Johnson won this event in 2008 by shooting a -19 (69-66-62-64=261) and is a co-favorite with Justin Leonard to win this tourney. As you can see from the odds listed below, not too many of the big names have made the trek this weekend from The Players Championship, but this is the best time to make some money betting on golf. Furthermore, golfing fans might be glued to the Golfing Channel this weekend, as “The 3 Irish Open” takes place across the pond; so cheer on your golfing wagers in the morning and in the afternoon.
